Day1, Departure from KL by MAS or AA flight to Beijing

 

Day 2, Arrive Beijing, gets on train in the evening.

Arrive Beijing inthe morning from KL at 2:00 am, transfer to hotel have rest. Free time toshopping in the afternoon in downtown Beijing prepare for train. In the eveningyour rail journey begins, as you transfer to the train station and depart forMongolia aboard a chartered Chinese train. You reach the border city of Erlianin approximately 16 hours, on the following day. You spend the night aboard thetrain. (BLD)

  

Day 3, CROSSINGTHE GOBI DESERT

Around noon you reach the Chinese-Mongolian border, whereyou board to the Tsar’s Gold private train. The change of trains is necessarybecause of the deferent track gauges in the two countries. In the growing cityof Erlian, you have some time to explore the colorful local market, before yourtrain sets off towards Mongolia. After crossing sections of the legendary Gobi Desert,the train travels through the vast green steppes of Mongolia. You spend thenight aboard the train. (BLD)

 

Day4,ULAN BATOR: Mongolian Yurt

Early-risers are treated to central Mongolia’s spectacularscenery. In the morning you arrive in Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia. Youcan leave your large luggage securely in your compartment. Arrive Mongoliancapital Ulan Bator in the morning, and then take 70km bus ride to the TelerejiNational park. Enjoy beautiful landscape in the national park, ride horse andthen stay in the Mongolian yurt, watch nice sun set in the national park. Thisis a rare experience and a dream come true for nature lovers. (BLD)

 

Day5,THE GANDAN MONASTERY AND UlAN BATOR CITY

Drive back from National park in themorning, visit Mongolian nomadic tribes on the meadow, and try local milk food.Back to Ulan Bator after lunch, visit Suhe Bator square, Dandan Monastery, National history museum, Genghis Khan Palace and see fullview of Ulan Bator on the Saiyin Mountain. Enjoy traditional Mongolian musicand dancing show in the evening. After that, our train will keep drivingtowards north Mongolia, arrive border of Mongolia and Russia (BLD)

 

Day6, ULAN UDE

You take your leave of the Mongolian steppestoday and travel through the valley of Mongolia’s largest River, the Selenga.You are on the way to Ulan Ude, where your train reaches the main route of theTrans-Siberian Railway. Here you take an informative city tour. You spend thenight aboard the train. (BLD)

 

Day 7.LAKE BAIKAL

Today is spent exploring the remarkable naturalphenomenon of Lake Baikal, the largest reservoir of freshwater in the world. Inthe morning your train travels directly alongside Lake Baikal, on the old routeof the Trans-Siberian Railway. During two extended photo-stops, you have achance to explore and enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake and its setting. Ashort boat excursion from Port Baikal takes you out onto the lake. Take a swim inthe lake, if you wish, and visit a picturesque Baikal village. Dinner is aBaikal style picnic on the lakeshore with a view of the incredible naturalsurroundings (weather permitting). Day 8.IRKUTSK

In the morning, you arrive in Irkutsk, thecapital of Eastern Siberia in tsarist times. Here you move into your hotel,which is simple, but central and nicely located. You can safely leave yourlarge baggage on the private train. During your city tour you see the OkhlopkovDrama Theatre, the new memorial to Tsar Alexander III, and the photogenic markethall. Around noon you pay a worthwhile visit to an open-air museum with a focuson life and work in historical Siberia. You spend the night in a nicely locatedhotel in Irkutsk. (BLD)

 

Day9, TRANS-SIBERIA

After breakfast you re-board the train andpass through the diverse landscapes of eastern Siberia. Talks on board informyou about the region and a vodka tasting with typical Russian snacks is anopportunity to experience Zrsthand the Russian festive customs of hospitalityand clever toasts. Day10, NOVOSIBIRSK

Around noon, your train arrives inNovosibirsk, the largest city in Siberia. You are greeted with bread and saltin the customary Russian manner and taken on a tour of this most Soviet ofcities along your entire route, including the chance to see the mighty ObRiver. You spend the night aboard the train. (BLD)

 

Day11. YEKATERINBURG

In the afternoon, your train stops in Yekaterinburg, the capitalof the Ural Federal District. The city is known as the place where the Russiantsar Nicholas II and his family were murdered in 1918. During a tour you seethe Cathedral of the Saviour on the Spilled Blood, which was built in 2003 tocommemorate that tragic historic event, and the city centre attractively restoredin 2009. Back on board, you enjoy views of the Urals landscape and indulge yourselfin the restaurant car. Your private train is already rolling across theEuropean continent. Day12, KAZAN

After breakfast you reach Kazan, the Tartar capital onthe banks of the Volga. On your city tour you see Tartar mosques and the mostfamous Russian Orthodox cathedral. You also take a tour of Kazan’s Kremlin,where you learn about the turbulent history of the relationship between theTartars, the Cossacks, and the Russians. Afterwards you enjoy lunch in a cityrestaurant. You spend the night aboard the train. (BLD)

  

Day13.WELCOME TO MOSCOW

Around noon, you arrive in the Russian capitalof Moscow, now a thriving, prosperous city, and are accompanied to your 4* hotel.At noon you visit the Kremlin grounds with its magnificent cathedral. Severalof the building interiors can also be viewed. After dinner, discover the city’smagic during an hour-long “City of Lights” tour, including a stop at RedSquare, and a ride on the underground to view two of Moscow’s particularlybeautiful metro stations. You spend the night in a hotel in Moscow. (BLD)

 

Day14.TOUR OF MOSCOW AND FLIGHT HOME

After an ample breakfast at your hotel, your tour of thecity takes you to the reconstructed Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, LomonossovUniversity, the New Maidens’ Convent (Novodevichy Monastery), and Red Squarewith its colorful St. Basil’s Cathedral, as well as to the notorious former KGBheadquarters and the White House. This then marks the end of your memorablejourney and the time has come to head to the airport. Take flight in theevening and fly back to KL. (B)

  

 

Day15,TRANSFER AND ARRIVE KL

We will transfer flight and then back to KL inthe afternoon.
